Who do you think the best up and coming 'young folky people' are? I'm just interested to know how well known they all are and who every one prefers.
While we're on the subject, did any one go to the young folk awards?
I know of it because my sister and a few people I know through her went to it last year. And yes, BBC2 folk thingy! I slightly went to the backstage party of that for about three quatres of an hour but then had to leave to get trains I'm not really into the 'folky scene' enough I don't think to have known that many people there!
fiddler's bid for sure are the best young band i've heard but i'm sure there are soooooo many more.
By the way Nicolar - how can you "slightly" go to a back stage party???
fiddlers bid are good from what i've heard of them, the 'slightly' was because I didn't really know any one and shouldnt reaaally have been there anyway being a not really in the folk scceene person.
I think I 'met' maisie although you can't really call it that but I know she was there and some other people
The Pack are grrreat (obviously) I've only seen them once though
urrm.. what else? OH as for peoplewho went to folk works well I SORT of know some one called Robin and some one called Ruthie although I hope they dont mind me mentioning them over the internet or anything like that but they are very fun people
Do you know Ola? Because that would make explaining verryy much easier!

Hanneke Cassel, and members of the Band Halali, also there are some great young musicians in The American Fiddle Ensemble with Darol Anger.

Re: Young Folk
Prepare yourself for possible bombardment of questions =)
Was that the first time they went? / Who are they?
I was going to be at the folk awards - the rest of my band went down, but I had a booking in the end =(
Actually, you know the band that won.. The sax/whistles player in our band (Sian!) is the sister of Anna from Uiscedwr. So we were pretty pleased =)
As well as the above, The Pack =)

Long shot, but you wouldn't have met a Sian, Maisie or Lily? =)

Re: Young Folk
Yes! Know parts of Ola! Although, this is rapidly degenerating into a *personal individual discussion*.. Sorry..
You know Robin (tall, blond hair?) and Ruthie (small, dark hair, very pretty?)! Woah..
So I'm guessing you're northern? =)
