Tune for current icy roads in UK?

Tune for current icy roads in UK?

Last night we had our usual weekly music get-together/session. Alas, due to the trecherous icy conditions of the roads in most of the UK this week, a couple of our number were driving home when their car left the road, and they found themselves (unharmed) in the ditch.

Nothing too serious luckily, but there *must* be a couple of appropriate tunes (or even songs) that I could pull out of the hat next week to maximise their embarassment!

Any suggestions?

Re: Tune for current icy roads in UK?

Well the obvious one is the reel "Ice on the Road". Since we've got wind as well, there's "Moving Cloud". From the US Old Time repertoire, there's "Back Up and Push" or "Cold Frosty Morning".

Re: Tune for current icy roads in UK?

Well no, I was just trying to hi-jack domnull's thread with more sillieness. So, while we're on the fish theme - is it wise to drive a turbot-charged car on fish slice - you might sild and skate all over the plaice.

Oh dear, dear....

Re: Tune for current icy roads in UK?

I think there's a Scottish one called The Bletherskate. I don't know what that means, but it somehow suggests the blethering of a carload of light-headed people rising to a shrill caterwaul as their jalopy briskly takes off in a waltz over a bit of black ice they hadn't noticed was ahead.
