Looking for a bit of help as I joined MySpace and then realised that if I wanted to upload any music, you have to have a special Music Account..
I don't seem to be able to get through the registration process for that, and I wonder if it is because I still have a personal account and need to delete that first. If I don't need to do that, I would rather keep that as well. It sure is a weird cyberworld out there - and to think I used to think that we had some weirdos here!!!
Anyway be great if someone could help me with this as the MySpace site isn't replying to any of my queries.
I am not certain but I think you need to have a different email address for each site. The best bet would be to set up a new hotmail or other email address and then try registering. You will probably have more luck then. Good luck,
There seems to be a lot of Irish trad musicians putting up "MySpace Music" pages now. For some reason a lot of the Scottish trad musicians seemed to be a good bit ahead of a lot of their celtic cousins here in Ireland, in creating MySpace Music pages, but the Irish are making up for lost time now it would seem:
Beebs, the problem is that you can only upload music if you have a "Music Account". With the ordinary personal accounts you can have other MySpace musicians music playing on your page only. At least that's how I see it.
I have just had a thought that maybe it is the IP address that is the problem, so I'll try and do it from work today.
Here's the deal with myspace. In the past, you could convert a normal profile to a music profile. For whatever reason they did away with that, and now you have to set up a music profile originally as a music profile. To do that, you'll have to either set up a 2nd account under a new e-mail account, or delete your original account so you can use that e-mail address.
From there, go to any music profile and click on the the link that says "Artist Sign-up." And just follow the instructions from there.
