Re: soprani boxes

Way down here is Australia, Don King had one a while ago (4v bc I think), I don't know if he still does, but if you don't mind the distance, it may be worth a try.

Re: soprani boxes

This beauty was unsold on ebay.

A bit pricey I suppose, but looks the business:

Maybe you could still contact the seller.

Re: soprani boxes

Italo American Accordion in Chicago had a b/c and c#/d (I think) a few weeks ago in the classic soprani red plastic. They were very wet, so I assume they were older boxes. Their phone number is (708) 422-2992. Their website is www.italo-american.qpg.com

Price range is pretty much the same. With the very weak dollar against the Euro, prices for boxes, or any other instrument that comes from Europe have gone through the roof.

I'm told that with their provenance, the soprani boxes are not all that available and several people have waited for some to come one the market.

Re: soprani boxes

That one on ebay is NOT a 50s/60s box. It is the "Jubilee" which is a curent repro in the stayle of the old grey box. I've not played one, but the only reports I've heard suggest that they don't play like the classic Paolo Sopranis.

Read about the new ones here:
