Can anybody name this tune? If it's new to the Session, feel free to take the credit. I heard and recorded this at O'Malleys in Canberra. To tell you the truth, there are at least a dozen more I'd like to identify, but I"ll put more effort into it myself first.
Yeah, it works well as a barndance / schottische / German, of the 'single' variety...but as was true with many of those and highland flings, they often get played as reels...
So, are you going to submit it mhuppert? I can't give you a name right now. It is familiar and came to me easily but that doesn't necessarily mean I have an information laying around here. I'll come back to it later and if I can find a name for it I'll send you that information and you can change the name for your submission of 'gan ainm' later... It is a good way to get others attention too. I understand a lot of schottisches are played in Australia as a form in good standing with the bush bands and the dances... We have a well informed Australian base on the site here. So go and add this and await comment. Even if we don't find a name, it is a fun tune, good dance music.

I've had a try on the whistle, but it rings no bells.
