I recieved a text message saying former Storm & Popes member Tommy MacManamon "MacAnimal" passed away not so long ago today. Circumstances I dont know, has anyone else heard this news yet ?
One of my mates is distantly related, so I've just left an answerphone message to check if this is true. Sad news if so. In addition to his Popes stuff, Tommy has been a stalwart of the North London session scene. If memory serves me right his family used to run The Favourite and he grew up in the midst of the very best of Irish music in London. Small wonder that he such a way with the tunes.
