I need to find some tunes that have a Christmas-y or wintery feel in the titlIe, & I know there's loads and loads of tunes out there that fit the bill so I thought I'd ask people to suggest their favourite few (in terms of tune or title - some tunes with funny titles would be cool....) so I can get some really good ones. Or even a set of 3 or 4 tunes with a wintery feel, should anyone get the urge....maybe even an arrangement for a 25 piece band......
There is a gorgeous Irish carol I know, I can't even pretend to remember the gaelic name it came attached to, but the name translates to "That Night in Bethlehem." It is one of the most mournful aires I know, perfect to commemorate the birth of a homeless child in a shed in the back yard.
And the Wexford Carol comes to mind, although the accidentals make it a bit challenging for flutes and whistles--the Voice Squad did a beautiful harmony version a few years back.
The Last Pint? ok, maybe not- but yeah, think the end of a christmas party... you know, the last pint.. before u head home.
Everyones' already said all my fav. "wintery" tunes...Christmas Eve...Jug of Punch...8th of January...Greensleeves... hmp
Not Irish though:
Ijswals
Daniell Martineau's "Valse d'Hiver"
Bill Boyd's "Arctic Circle Waltz"
Jonathen Jensen's "Winter Dreams"
George Reynold's "Ice on the Water"
Bob Pasquarello's "Midwinter Blossom"
Graham Townshend's "Ice on the Road"
Gustav Holst's "in the Bleak Midwinter"
Cold, Frosty Morning
Andrew Rankine's "Hogmanay" (Adieu to the Auld Year)
Wally Traugotts "Snowflake Breakdown"
Reel des Skieurs (aka Steamboat Reel, Quadrille Indien)
Snowshoer's March (des Racquetteurs)
I like them all, enough said for now...
Wintery Tunes

Does it have to be in the title?
Piper in the Meadow Straying = Deck the Halls in the b part. It's great! It's a set dance by the way..
Christmas Eve - Reel
Christmas in da morning - Jig I think?
Greensleeves - a jig version! It's in O'Neill's if ya have it.
Ahhhh, all I can think of rigth now! Hope that helped..
Cheers,
Armand
