I've heard wonderful things about Scoiltrad, both on The Session and elsewhere, but it appears that it is no longer a live website. Does anybody know where it went to?
All is not lost. It is still possible to access old pages of Scoiltrad from early 2001 to early 2005.
This is how you do it:
1) Fire up http://www.archive.org/web/web.php (This is the WaybackMachine web archive)
2) In the box that has "Take Me Back" on its right key in http://www.scoiltrad.com/
3) Click on "Take Me Back"
4) You should now see a list of links to the pages that are still available in archive.
I should perhaps add that WaybackMachine is not infallible; it may sometimes archive urls but not the page contents, for whatever reason, and it won't be able to archive some websites if the website owners have put blocks on them.
But it's better than nothing.
The real beauty of Scoiltrad was the lessons, but I don't think you're going to be able to get to them from the WaybackMachine cache.
I learned faster than I ever have before--you'd listen to the lesson, play along with it, finally when ready record it, and upload it. Conal O'Grada was the flute instructor; he'd listen to your recording and offer pointers and guidance.
That's the part that was just irreplacable. Tutors like from madfortrad.com are also valuable, but it was the one-on-one feedback that made Scoiltrad's magic work.
Scoiltrad no more?
Scoiltrad no more?

Re: Scoiltrad no more?
Scoiltrad was a wonderful resource.
Alas, it folded and is no more.
It is missed: nothing has stepped up to fill its empty shoes.
