I just moved to the Santa Cruz, CA area and am looking for people to play with. Nothing serious...just get together at someone's house and play perhaps. I'm not a great player, in the sense that I don't know many tunes yet...picking some up slowly. I play tenor banjo, guitar and a small bit of whistle. Mostly tenor banjo nowadays. I know there's a few sessions around, but I don't know enough tunes for that yet...
I played in an Irish Pub band in SoCal .... http://www.breech.net/paddys_pig/ ...so most of my experience is in playing songs, not jigs, reels, etc....
I know there's a lot of players in the area. Anyone interested? Especially maybe someone in the same boat as me? ...not knowing too many songs...but can play pretty well technically.
