A friend has asked me recently for advice on where to start with learning trad tunes, but as a tuneless wonder i couldn't help - she's a great musician but has just started playing trad and is looking for good tunes she is likely to hear played in sessions in Belfast.
has anyone any suggestions of tunes, or recordings that would be helpful?
Hiya, Kids,
Has anyone heard of a CD called something like "Traditional Irish Session Music From Belfast " featuring various artists? If so, do you know where it can be gotten?
Thanks ever so ~~~

Re: tunes in Belfast sessions
Do they play The Belfast Hornpipe in Belfast? It's certainly a good tune, IMHO.

Re: tunes in Belfast sessions
'vaguely', tell your friend to get out to the 'Open House Festival' sessions, which are happening all over the place, this very weekend, in Belfasht!
Oh, & tell her not to forget her tape recorder!
