Can anyone tell me where to find oud strings on the net? Can you get GGDDaaee sets for Bouzouki? Its costing a fortune going through the single strings box at the music shop.. and I am fortunate because my Rob Armstrong zouk takes ball ends.
Hobgoblin, my friend, do mail-order if you're not near a shop.
They do a 10-string set with 3 of each of the plain strings, so you can use them for octaves on the bottom two pairs. Also the guages give very little variation in intonation with the octaves as you go up the fretboard, you don't need different compensation on the pairs for octaves or unison stringing on the G and D.
JustStrings and First Quality Music are two good online sources for strings. I use my own custom set for my octave mandolin, so I buy all of my strings as singles.

I'm sure they will sell oud strings too, they certainly sell the instruments.

(At Juststrings.com, you can buy them in bulk sets of ~12 and they're not expensive.)
