I'm thinking of upgrading my button box and my two choices are Salterelle or Serenilli. Does anyone have an opinion of one being better than the other?

What is wrong with a new P. Soprani ( tuned like a salterell ) in wood finish. It might save you money
If you want a larger 4 voice box again P.S. or a Boorinwood

Serenellini was apparently the first manufacturer to make accordions for the Saltarelle label, as they don't actually make their own boxes. Sorry I can't remember who's making them nowadays. There have been quality control problems with Saltarelle in the past, but I don't have any current information.
I'm the happy owner of a Serenellini "Irish Cloud", which seems to work fine, sounds great, blah blah blah. After two years, I haven't found myself wishing for anything better, if that means anything. There are days when I'd like a slightly smaller box like a Cairdin, but that doesn't happen often. My reasoning for going with Serenellini was that it's roughly the same as Saltarelle, but I have a better idea of what I'm getting, and I can deal directly with the factory if I need to.
Have you already checked out Cairdin, Castagnari, Mengascini, Boxeen?
The newer Paolo Sopranis are not made by the original manufacturer, and are not generally considered to be what they once were.

A friend has just bought a Serenellini and he is delighted with it so I was hoping to find another happy player as I think it will be my choice as well.
