Da Scallowa Lasses, a good old reel from Shetland.
("Scallowa" is an older and I'm told more authentic version of Scalloway, a small village that was Shetland's capital before Lerwick - now a much bigger place - became so.)
Lasses do seem to inspire some good tunes. Single ones are commemorated in The Hexhamshire Lass, a jaunty Northumrian song, and The Bonnie Lass O' Bon Accord, a multi - part Scottish (Scott Skinner?) tune. Neither would be out of place in the Tunes database; I'd particularly like to see the latter there, as I heard it years ago and have forgotten how it went.
Ottery, that's funny, I always think the same thing about "Dunmore Lasses", that's it sounds like a boast.
When my band sings "New York Girls", instead of "Don't you mess around with women lads, you're safer round Cape Horn", I always think of "Don't you mess around with women lads, you're safer round gay porn". That line is forever ruined for me.
