Hi, I'm moving back to Cork in a few weeks from Wellington.. I'm wondering if there's anyone in Cork giving lessons. I'm not a bad flute player I'm at it a long time but asides from a few workshops and things have never had formal lessons so it might be time..
What's the session scene like over there? I'm looking for a nice balanced friendly stable session at a decent standard and I'm willing to travel outside Cork if needed. Does anyone know about sessions in the county?
Thanks..
Thanks for that Pat,
you can't spit but you'll meet someone you know..
I'll miss you guys too!!
I'm sure you'll manage the harmonies without me.
And I'm a one band girl.. So far..
2.30pm Charlies – Union Quay New the City Hall
6.30pm Sin E – Coburg St – Off Patrick’s Hill
9.30pm Gables – Douglas St
Unfortunately the Cruiscin Lan session has finished for now but I believe the core group are relocating to another pub in the city but this is not finalised.
You’re into harmonies, check out
Monday evenings in The Mutton Lane Inn,
Thursday, Friday or Saturday night in the Spalpín Fanacht or The Sin É Friday evenings all at around 9.30pm and
The Sky Bar 6.30pm Sundays (across the road from Sín É and Corner House). The music can drift somewhat from strictly Comhaltas approved ITM but it’s definitely worth a listen.
Also keep an eye out for the new band Lazik and their fabulous female flute player/singer, and
WELCOME BACK.

Folks , don't let her in the door, she'll steal all the talent , form a band and next thing they'll be playing HARMONIES in your session.
That ain't right !!
So tisn't.
