Hello everybody! I was wondering if there is any flute book on the Internet. Basically, tips on the instrument technique or maybe some tunes analyzed by flutist (I heard about a fiddle book which has the "bows" in many tunes).
Take a look at this thread: http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display/11029 for info on June McCormack's new flute tutorial. It's a real book (not just a web site), so you have to fork over $25 USD and wait a few days for the mail to arrive, but the price is a bargain for the great tunes and June's excellent advice on ornaments and breathing.
Lesl Harker just did the big book of 300 or so Mike Rafferty Tunes. I am not sure who carries it, but if anyone wants it, she is a member of this group and you can ask.
it is a major important work and she did a great job documenting the tunes of this legendary player!
it's not a tutorial in regards to technique but every flute player and musician who can read should get a copy!
Thanks guys. I have it here, you can email me or go via the website to email me, also Ossian USA carries it.
It isn't a tutor in words, it's via the tunes. You can go across the dance sections to get closer to the order I was given them. eg start with the jig Jerry Beaver's (my first tune) then the first set piece, then the first hornpipe, first reel, etc. It includes where you can breathe for playing the tunes on flute when you are learning.
I thought Brad did a great job doing up the website with all the extra info.

Brother Steve's tinm whistle site has lots of good technique advice that applies well to flute: http://www.rogermillington.com/siamsa/brosteve/
And the wooden flute site offers tips on playing, listening, and buying flutes: http://www.woodenflute.com/about
Finally, the flute forum at Chiff and Fipple provides more ideas and opinions about embouchure and other flutey aspects than is really necessary, but it's usually a fun read: http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=9b898a7b5b7d358867ab3895aea5f418

I don't have it yet, but it's on my list.
