Hello lads 'n' lasses. I'm heading to Dublin tonight and will be around tomorrow as well. However my plane gets in at around 9.30 this evening so I won't be able to get to the city centre 'til after10 at the earliest. Are there any late-ish sessions on a Wednesday? Apparently Gogarty's runs until 2AM but if memory serves the sessions are mic-ed and are more like gigs. Any suggestions? Or is Gogarty's still worth a shot?
Hughes and Cobblestone run from 9.30 till 12.00 ish. You could also relax and go listen to some singing and Box maestro Tony McMahon in Cle Club. Starts about 9.30 and continues till about 1.00 a.m. ish
Hey thanks for the response, and to Fauta Dolce for the e-mail (which unfortunately I didn't get to read until my return). Ended up going to Cobblestone's on Friday night - thanks for the great music everyone, if any of you are reading this. Nollaig McCarthy's piping was a real treat;Tom the owner was a gentleman. Also met a Colombian girl who was playing great stuff on the fiddle. Had thought about heading to Hugh's with Danny Diamond but you know how it is - once you get settled it's hard to leave.
