The ITMA are looking into it for me, but have come up with nothing so far... no-one else seems to know its name. I learnt it as a Micho Russell tune but its very un MRish

I first heard Gerry O Connor (fiddle) play it at last years' recital in Miltown but I'm guessing it's an old tune.
Hi Conán, isn't this Timmy Clifford's though the notes are a bit different to the setting I am accustomed to. That tune is sometimes referred to as Micho Russell's and is played in different keys - ?D
I've been racking my brains trying to remember what album I'd heard it on - 'The Smokey Chimney' fits. Conán, if you come up with any other info from the sessions that'd be great, but at least that annoying puzzle in the back of the brain is sorted!

I believe this is the tune sometimes called Timmy Clifford's, as recorded by Solas. It's called "Micho Russell's" on The Smokey Chimney.
