Looking for lessons in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area
Looking for lessons in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area
I'm looking for lessons. I'm an intermediate fiddle student, and I also want some lessons on the bodhran and bouzouki.
I'm having a hard time this year finding someone who would be willing to give some fun lessons. Anyone have any suggestions. Even an advanced student would be great.
Just thought I'd throw this question out there.
Thanks. Norm.

Prusin Music offer lessons on fiddle and bodhran. Also fiddle lessons at Irish Woollens. Both on West 4th. I've never seen anyone play bouzouki here, but Rufus Guitar had one in stock a while ago.

Thanks for the tips. I think Randy at Prusin Music gives bouzouki lessons too, I'll check it all out. I see you play mandolin.......... interested in giving some lessons ????
Just thought I'd ask........... have a great day.

Did you go to the Dedanaan Dance and music camp last month?
It was in Harrison Hotsprings.
Their website is: http://www.internetimage.ca/dedanaan/ceili.asp
Reach out to the people who run that camp.

A couple corrections to oldstrings post - Prussin Music is located on West Broadway at Dunbar Street, and fiddle lessons are indeed available at Celtic Woollens which is located on West 10th Avenue just west of Alma Street. I think they also do bouzouki and bodhran lessons too.
Re: Looking for lessons in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area
Hello All,
My name is Jeremy Penner, and I'm a new fiddle player in town! I play all sorts of styles, but I have a special place in my heart for celtic fiddle, especially Irish style. I helped found the celtic band "Scruj MacDuhk", but my last regular gig was with "The Bills" for 2 years out of Victoria.
Anyways, I'm starting to give lessons, so if anyone's interested, give me a call. 604-677-7347.
