I have been hearing some rumors about a television programme being made some 25-30 years ago called "The Green Linnet", produced by Tony Macmahon, featuring himself and Barney McKenna.
Could anybody tell me more about this programme, and does anybody know if it has been released for sale on either VHS or DVD?
Some of it was shown on Come West Along the Road. The story is that the making was so stressful the men ended up not talking to eachother for the next 25 years.
below is a statement posted on this forum about a known irish musican. given that the poster didn't hesitate to make this statement, yet has refused to explain exactly what "time has shown" about this musician, i find the statement grossly inappropriate, not to mention coy---but coy in an extremely uncalled-for and tasteless way. i request that the site managers remove this statement, given that the poster felt free to lob it out there with no explanation:
"time has shown that tony was suffering a lot of stress for a lot of years and perhaps the fallout was connected to this."

what does this refer to?: "time has shown that tony was suffering a lot of stress for a lot of years"? since it's been "shown," can you elucidate?

Eh, Tony and Barney played a gig for the Carlow Fleadh in April 2005 or so and seemed to be the best of pals on the stage.
