Music For Whistle & Guitar-Cormac Bretnach, Martin Dunlea

Music For Whistle & Guitar-Cormac Bretnach, Martin Dunlea

I can't find this on here, does anyone have the dots for the first track:
Reels: Through the Fields / The Man of the House / The Shores of Lough Reagh

Or if anyone is familiar with this record, maybe just submit it.

Cormac has successfully fused jazz styles with ITM. His versions of the tunes are one-of-a-kind and would be futile to transcribe. I wouldn't recommend learning tunes from this exquisite recording. His music is to be enjoyed and admired for it's unique genius and creativity.

Through The Fields and The Shores of Loughrea (note the spelling) can both be found on JC's tunefinder:

Man of the House:

I'd agree with Jack that this is not the sort of album to learn tunes off - at least most tracks - but it is a great album.

I just really like the tunes, so I thought I'd learn them.

the title "Tommy Whelan's" is also attributed to the reel "The shores of lough Reagh"...
it might be that you'll find it under this name...As for "The man of the House", the late Brendan Breathnach (music collector) also referred to this tune as "Ginley's Fancy", "Sally Grant" and "Handsome Sally"..

Cormac rocks! Copping his style by ear makes more sense than trying to notate. But hey it's your life. I think feel is what you really want from Cormac's music. I doubt even he could or would even want to play these tunes the same way twice. But that's just what I think.
