My mother delightfully told me last night that she is passing my grandmothers Hohner Tricolor Button Accordion down to me. Even though I can play the instrument, I do not have a clue on value. I have no intention to sell but is there value on this? Its approx 50 years old and in need of repair.
Value of old button accordions can vary tremendously, depending on original quality and current state of repair.
I never heard of a Hohner Tricolour, can you give us any more information? Is Tricolour the model name?
You might consider posting your question on Melodeon.net, as there are many experienced players and repairers there, who could give you a better idea of its value.
Sorry was only after I realised the error and had no time to correct it. Its a Hohner Trichord, also as its aged there text worn away, I think its I M or I N and thats all that remains.

Re: Inherited Button Accordion
perhaps it's a Trichord. They've always looked good to me but I've never played one. I believe they're B/C/C# with 12 basses.
