there is very little tab out there that specifically addresses the Irish tenro banjo. You can go to http://www.mandolincafe.com and find plenty of mandolin tabs that might help.
Personally I would learn to read music (try this from John McGann: http://www.johnmcgann.com/TabReadersGuideToStandard.pdf it is free), it is not that hard after a few months of trying and it opens up a lot of resources for you.
One of the problems with tabs is that it directs you to play the music in one specific way. While this seems like and advantage in the beginning (and it is), later on you realize that the tab form is very limited and you have to learn to read music anyway <G>
Try Tabledit at : http://www.tabledit.com
You will have to pay for the full version and it's not expensive but you can import all the tunes that have midi files and it will convert them all to Tab. You can also play back the Tab and slow it down you can also loop certain sections so you don't have to listen to the whole tune very handy when you want learn first or second parts of a song. There are also help files on the site on how to use it.
I don't read music and I don't have the inclination to so it suits me. I find it very good. If you need any help with it you can drop me a line at:
casey@thequinsrfc.com
and if there is any Tab that you want I can probably forward it to you. You can also download a version which is free but will only let you read the Tab and not Edit it.
Ballymack is right tabledit is brilliant, although you can also import any abc file and it will convert it into tab, hence any of the tunes on the session can be tabbed in a few seconds - believe me it is a dream to use, rather than trying to input it all yourself!
i'm delighted with tabledit! It's good to hear what the tunes that i'm trying to play sounds like!!
I have been reading the tab readers guide to standard music, its basically a summary of what i already know, it very useful for anyone that is having the same problems!
but without sounding like a nagging auntie..... practice makes perfect i suppose!!
Where can i get Tabs for the tenor banjo

I dont read music very well and find myself trying to convert sheetmusic into a TAB form.

But then this is one of my prejudices.
