Playing in N.Z.

Playing in N.Z.

We are a U.K. band with a potential tour of N.Z. has anyone got any advice or suggestions about playing over there? What about funding from Art's Council or British Council anyone had any joy with them? If so how. Any thoughts welcome.....Jiggery3

try

or

http://www.acousticroutes.org.nz/index.html

the latter will put you in the right direction, the former is a tour management company

what I meant to say was, New Zealanders are lovely. They can play rugby much better that Ireland. Trust them to look after you when you get there.

Re: Playing in N.Z.

How do I put this, you would be most welcome and we would love to see you and show you our lovely country, but a profitable tour could be a pipedream.

PS do any of you flyfish?

Re: Playing in N.Z.

Greetings..Kia Ora etc.

Good to hear more more musos want to head down under.

If you are an Irish or folk group, then yes, there are grants that are available from various sources. There have been others who have played at the Auckland Folk Festival held each anniversary weekend (Jan 26) and who have been sponsored by the Arts Council.
As a suggestion, get in touch with the secretary of the Devonport Folk Club, who should be able to assist.

All the best now..
