I just received newsnews that two members of the Asturian band Felpeyu have been killed in a car crash. The band were involved in an accident on the way to a concert and although the rest of the band survived with only minor injuries, guitar, mandolin and bouzouki player Ígor Medio and guitarist, bassist and vocalist Carlos Redondo were tragically killed.
It is a very sad day for Asturian music. They were one of their greatest and most popular bands.

I can't believe that - I'm so shocked. The band have often come to Australia and would turn up to sessions. Igor and Carlos were brilliant musicians and such nice people too.
We were really depressed, and still are, at the news. Igor and Carlos were our friends, and Felpeyu are well remembered in here, both for their music and for their personalities. This is really horrible.

This tragedy makes me think of all the other fine musicians who have been taken too soon?
