Festivals during term time!

Festivals during term time!

I'm annoyed because all the good festivals are during my term time. I'm from England, and the schools here don't break up until the end of July. I'm missing out on the Willy Clancey and the Joe Mooney, the two festivals that i absolutely, possitively wanted to go to! Any views on this, or am i the only one who feels left out?

Gee, that's really nice, Geoff.

Seriously, I sympathize. School is the source of all evil.

Being from England is not too far from Ireland. With the money I would spend on plane tickets, I could buy another Flute. Although, I am not saying School isn't evil. There are a shedload of things I have missed for something school related.

yeah I know what you mean about the festivals in term-time but there's still some decent ones in the summer! Towersey and whitby are in august and aren't they two of the biggest? Or you could just miss the last few weeks of school as i am doing this year - to go to Ethnos!

I've had permission to take my 2 girls out of school for Willie Week and the S Sligo summer school because it's classed as an 'educational trip'.

I'm from England, too, and I've twice managed to persuade my school to let me go to the Meitheal summer school run by Garry Shannon (you should go there too - it's brilliant!).
The trick is to ask your school for permission, saying it's Educational, blah, blah, and they'll probably give it - but if they don't, just go anyway! There's nothing they can do to stop you!
