Bodhran and Whistle teachers around the west coast [Ireland]?

Hello everyone!

I'll be in Ireland in September where I'll spend most of my time
around the west coast (Dingle and north).

I've recently spoke with Junior Davey, the bodhran player, and he said he's free in September.

I also got recommendations for Bernie Flaherty and Carmel Gunning.

Bottom line - I'm looking for teachers (advanced level) that live close to each other so I can have a week of two teachers per day and a place to sleep (Campsites will do fine!)

Any thoughts?

I don't know any other musician teaching bodhran or whistle in Ireland. You can actually learn a lot chatting with good musicians. If you find a nice friendly session, be sure to spend as much time talking with the local musicians as you do playing tunes with them. They will share some interesting stories about how they started playing, how they learned tunes and techniques, how "traditional" music should be played, etc. It's nice to know several different attitudes and opinions: they will all help you learn and play music.

Wow! This is a great news for my wife; we are in Ennis from 8 to 16 June and she looking for a bodhran teacher!!!

But... John Joe Kelly teaching bodhran?
