So, I am in Ireland for over 2 months starting at the very end of June. I will be at Willy Clancy...
I have been made aware, from a few friends in Ireland, that some of the websites do not provide all festival information. I am looking for small, nice, intimate ones, but also a few larger ones to hit up.
Well Willie Clancy is the best as far as I'm concerned so that is the one I never miss.
I've heard good reports about Tubbercurry as well. I was at Drumshambo a couple of years ago for the weekend. It's a good quiet one with less people but still good craic and tunes.
Obviously the provencial Fleadhs can be good as well and The All-Ireland is the biggest. I wasn't in Letterkenny last year for it but anyone I know who went had a great time.
I think Soceal has hit the three best ones over the summer and if I'm not mistaken they are all a week apart! You also have the Ballyshannon folk festival at the start of August - used to be great but I haven't been in a good few years.
