Any suggestions on which one is worth going to? I'll be in Ennis on Firday so I'll be smakc bnag in the middle. I'm going to go to one or the other and haven't been to either so a little guidnace would be good.
well being from just outside abbeyfeale, I'm gonna back my home town. Tunes should be very good. Four men and a dog in concert (probably playing in kevin murphys pub sunday evening before hand) Last year was amazing - Donal Murphy, Edel Fox, Seamus Begley, Tim Edey, all the Dervish lads etc. playing solid for the weekend. Well worth a visit.
Well lads!
Abbeyfeale is good, and I always had happy time there, but I have been playing at the Cuckoo in Kinvara the last two years and its mad craic! Good tunes too!
I am heading up north this week-end, so I am going to miss both for the first time in years! Aaaagh!
(Keep an eye open for the life-size Cuckoo running about!)
May Bank holiday is mad. There's a festival in Louisburgh, Co. Mayo too. However, Soceal, if you're in Ennis it might be more of interest to know that there also is a weekend remembering P Joe Hayes on that weekend centring on Peppers and its famous marquee in Feakle. Small scale but lovely and only about half an hour's drive/hitch from Ennis.
Anyone going to Abbeyfeale and looking to play a few tunes check out Donal & Ann's Pub Saturday night, Jack O Rourkes Pub Sunday afternoon and Kevin Murphy's Pub Sunday night

And a few northern musicians are playing at the Feale as well - should be good. Dont forget that Dungarvan is also on this weekend.
