Anybody selling a Martin or a Lowden with a cut away? I had the misfortune to reverse a 2800kg jeep across my 1 year old custom built Lowden on Friday night so I'm looking for a decent guitar to tide me over ‘til I get a new one.
I have a Lowden O10 that I don't play very much anymore. It doesn't have a cutaway. I might be tempted to part with it. Let me know if you are interested.
I do have a Lowden 032 for sale, in the USA. It's not a cutaway model.
I have no experience in shipping to Ireland, so I'm completely ignorant of stuff like customs fees and/or duties, but if it's a bone-stock, excellent 032 you want, I'm willing to work it all out.
I do really want to sell it. I love it, but it's voice is not my voice.
There's that feeling when you first see the damage you have done, around here we call that the "o make it didn't happen" phase; but after comes acceptance and healing. My disaster was almost a year ago, and I'm pretty much over it. Still get a little twinge now and then; and I'm VERY careful now, too; but it only takes such a small moment of inattention. Good luck.
I did the same thing with a custom built octave mandolin a few years ago. Backed over it. Then pulled forward. Then thought, well, maybe it will be OK. Wrong... Bag of splinters. Luckily the insurance company was very easy to work with.
No damage to the jeep Sean but I left a big black mark on my driveway where the case got dragged. It's all Dezi Kellegher's fault. If I hadn't had his CD on full blast I would have heard the grinding. Have you ever backed your bike accross your bouzouli?

Re: Martin / Lowden for sale?
Ouch Ouch Ouch. Commiserations from one who smashed the back off his Martin & the top off his Taylor. Were you insured?

Re: Martin / Lowden for sale?
No Insurance. Got my valuation, filled in the form but hadn't posted it. Doh!

Well, John, be sure to allow a suitable period of mourning. The stages of grief and recovery just can’t be rushed.
I have a Martin for sale, but it’s not a cutaway. It’s a D-35S with wide twelve-fret neck.

Re: Martin / Lowden for sale?
My condolences John; makes me squirm just to think about it!
I think board member Steve Johnson recently posted something up here about a Lownden for sale, but he is in the States...
Good luck with your recovery.

"Have you ever backed your bike across your bouzouli?"
No never, and I think the ointment is starting to shrink them at last!

If you do, you could always go here, to look for a new one, at least you would get a bouzouki here - not sure about a Bouzouli though(?):

Re: Martin / Lowden for sale?
Just had a thought! Could a Bouzouli be a hybrid between a Bouzouki & a Ukulele?
