playing sets with abcnavigator

playing sets with abcnavigator

Does anyone know how to play sets of tunes with the program (so that the tunes play back-to-back?) Is there a Help file anywhere?

Re: playing sets with abcnavigator

I use navgator2. At the bottom of the screen are three tabs: Score (takes you to the main score page), Sets (the one you want), and Print List (great for assembling tune books).

After clicking the "sets" tab, You click the "set" button, name your new set, and just drag the tune into the space on the line. After assembling your set, right click and select "play set".

Thanks a lot. How did you find that out? Is there a help file somewhere?

No help. I just have too much time to poke around on software.

Re: playing sets with abcnavigator

It is a shame they haven't got their act together yet and produced a help file or quick guide - their website is pretty sparse.
I like the look of it but have never spent the time poking around it so carry on using abc2win.

Well, it's an amazing program as it is, and considering it's free I'm certainly not complaining.

Re: playing sets with abcnavigator

I credit abcnavigator alot for helping me learn tunes. I started knowing none. I do a lot of listening. I have collected almost 6000 tunes in one file so I can do massive searches for and sortings of tunes . I also have printed great tune books such as "Reels in g", "Jigs in d", "Tunes in Bb" , "Reels in O'Niels" etc with hundreds of tunes in each - a great library!

The ability to play along with fiddles, dulcimers, etc at various speeds have really helped me. I work nights and rarely these days get to attend sessions. abcnav keeps me in shape and up to speed.

My only complaint is the inability to get the rythmn of hornpipes right.

I also like how I can slide the program folder on a flash drive so I can have it anywhere I go.
