Hi
I have been using amazing slow downer for a while and think it's great. can you explain the following. I want to create a trad set on it starting with for example the kesh jig followed by the mist covered mountain. I have both of these tunes on cd in different sets. Is it possible to cut the kesh from one of the cd's and cut the mist covered mountain from another and paste them together to form the set i want and then play it through the slow downer. Is there any software that can allow me to do this type of thing???? This would be great for practicing sets that are not on a cd already. advice appreciated.
p.s. forward apology if this can be done already but my pc skills are terrible
Hi,
Have a look at Audacity; http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
This is a free sound editor and will do what you want.
Play the cd in your computer and record on Audacity with the 'What u hear' setting. You can use edit to copy and paste the bits you want on to a new track (Use File). Then export as a wav or mp3 file (File) to desk top or new folder. Play using slow downer. Windows Media player will also slow down digital files using (Play>Play speed).
If you have Windows Media Player, you can do the same thing. Go to View>Enhancements>Play speed settings. This has been available since at least version 9 of WMP
Once you rip a track to your hard drive you can do several things to it. You can combine several songs into one folder and burn them to a CD or make practice folders I have made several sets this way by combining them into a folder and then putting them on my MP3 player.
I also practice with the computer and the speed set to about 50%. It works well.

After you have gone to all the trouble of editing the two tracks together using Audacity why not play it using Audacity using Effect>Change Tempo ??

Only reason is that it's easier to have all tunes/playlists in one system using WM as default player with the same slow down setting. I've tried Amazing Slowdowner but have settled for the ease of WM.
Amazing slow downer question
