this is one of my favorite discs right now, and am trying to learn some tunes from it, but what is up with the tuning? "Traditional Music from the Legendary East Clare Fiddler" the whole album sounds like it was recorded then put into a key warp machine...what could I tune to to get that sound?

I learned some Paddy Canny tunes from Patrick Orceau this past summer, and according to Patrick he really played in that weird tuning. It's done with the fingers, rather than by tuning the strings differently. Although maybe he did that too.

I haven't heard that album but would Paddy Canny be using quarter-tones (e.g. a note halfway between C-nat and C-#) a lot ? Trevor
