I am presently geting ready for 2nd annual Gaelic Festival 2007. looking at dates in mid and late Sept.in Moore Square Raleigh. {as we had it there last year} Since the birth of Irisheventsnc and it's first Gaelic Fest. We have continued to book bands Irish dance and generaly promote our heritage all year. We recently had ALBANNACH from Scotland at Tir Na Nog Irish Pub and I was just blown away by thier sheer energy and tribal drumming. So I have invited them back to be part of Gaelic Festival 2007.. Anyway as I said right now just waiting on the City of Raleigh to say yeah or Nay!! BUT truly would love to find some huge field where we could camp party and be ourselves. A Celtic Woodstock. Hmmm any ideas?? And YES on the Celtic Rock chat. The Prodigals are brill. We also had them in Cary a couple of weeks back. I do love the marriage of Trad & Rock, when it is done well. We also had GRADA here from Dublin a couple weeks back Very good musicians and a lot of energy and fun on stage. and we had TEADA which although brill musicians.. seemed a bit stiff . Another great band to wartch for is out of OHIO called The Homeland Band. They remind me a bit of The Saw Doctors. I am planning on inviting them to be part of Gaelic Festival as well this year. So if you have any suggestions or good band ref please let me know. or check my web site for up dates on news and events. www.irisheventsnc.com. Have a good un and Thanks for sharing music notes
