My Irish traditional music disc, Coyotebanjo, with Randal Bays (fiddle) and Roger Landes (bouzouki), plus guests Angie Mariani (singing "Short Jacket and White Trousers" and "So Early in the Spring") and John Perrin (bodhran on four tracks) has shipped and I've got copies in hand.
71:00 minutes of music. Buy from me on the gigs or via http://cdbaby.com/coyotebanjo. The latter site has excerpts of all tracks.
On another note: my website is up in a preliminary version: http://coyotebanjo.com. Includes complete liner notes, gig list, photos, etc.
Feel free to visit, sign the mailing list, leave a note in the guestbook so I know you've been.
I heard the samples off the link from the cittern group.
Brilliant recording ! Love that open acoustic sound. Well done the engineers, as well as yourselves the musicians.
OK, my apologies. I'll back the "puke" remark. It was uncalled for. I was thinking that "is this the place for self-promotion?" but if I was as good a musician as Chris I'd most likely do the same and publicise an album here. Nice playing, Chris et al!
You bring up an interesting point here, Danny. Normally, I'd say it wasn't. However, Chris has been a regular contributor here over the years, albeit he's had a short break away. So, in a way, it's just like he's mentioning the fact that he's got a new CD to "his pals at The Session" as opposed to his pals at his local pub session.
Therefore, I've no problem with Chris bringing this up here. However, I would be irritated if "one off" visitors were to make a habit of coming here and were using the site as free advertising. Fair enough, if they're contributing something but not if they make the one post to publicise their album or whatever and are never seen again.
True, I made that point to Danny that if some one we never saw here
before became a member and promoted their whatever, then you'd say feck off.
But wouldn’t it be odd if any of us produced something to do with diddley,
and then on the diddley site never said anything about it?
Fair play to Danny for apologising, takes a lot of guts.
No leave Brian alone I'm enjoying this too much. I reckon we should make Pingu get down on his hands and knees, lick his Chris's boots and beg his forgiveness.
No, I was only kidding. I'm not really enjoying it. It's just so rare to see Pingu be so selfless and apologetic that it's... it's almost beautiful. Pingu you're an inspiration to us all!
Before you lot get too excited by Conán's nocturnal emi...sorry, episodes, in yer dreams is just a Glasgow (and possibly elsewhere) expression for something that never happened nor ever will.
So if it was Paddy putting up a commercial post then it would be ok? But actually it was the following that made me pose the query: "However, I would be irritated if "one off" visitors were to make a habit of coming here and were using the site as free advertising. Fair enough, if they're contributing something but not if they make the one post to publicise their album or whatever and are never seen again."

We're all here at Jeremy's pleasure and under his conditions, so I don't feel comfortable judging whether a particular entry is proper. In general, though, I'm glad to be informed about performances, recordings, products, etc., that are clearly related to the music.
BegF, Zina and I weren't in disagreement... there was no disagreement. I was simply asking for opinions related to comments made on this thread. Why is it that after just asking for an opinion you guys think I was suggesting that something should be done about it? You're jumping to conclusions here.
Because it's YOU, Jack. ;) Just kidding -- actually, what I meant was that I don't bother having opinions on that particular subject, because if Jeremy thinks it's ok, then it's ok by me, and so on and so forth.
“ Why is it that after just asking for an opinion you guys think I was suggesting that something should be done about it?” I never thought that.
