I think we should petition Jeremy to change the color on the screen to white instead of yellow/orange at "the session.org" so that our bosses/co-workers cannot tell when we're checking out "thesession" instead of working (tee-hee). If you are in agreement, please sign below.

Someone suggested that a “theme” background be made available like on the adactio site. At least a spreadsheet/stealth mode would be great, if it’s not too much work. It might help keep me employed. Hah, I’m asking Jeremy to do some work so I don’t have to!
It was old but it was beautiful and the colours they were fine
I logged on in Derry Aughrim Enniskillen and Ardoyne,
Sure me father he lurked away in the good old days of yore
The sessions colours were exactly like The Sash My Father Wore !!!!
God help us at the Fleadh Breandan, you are DEFINATELY in party mood!!!!!
Conán, i could just imagine you singing away to that lovely tune??
Leave the colours, just learn to minimise quicker!!!!
Its not going to happen. This has been hinted at for years.
I will say though, if the one thing that bothers some folks about the site is the moxy color, it shows how well every thing else was made/ developed. congrats there.
but I will say;
leave all developing to developers,
leave design to designers.
The NPR "Car Talk" web site used to have a "Boss Button". If you heard your boss coming you could click on it and it brought up a very impressive forecast-type spreadsheet.
No good if your back is to the office door, or if your boss is really sneaky.
Wait! Don't misunderstand. I'm not complaining of the color (or anything else for that matter). It's fine! It's just that it's so distinquishable from business-related sites/documents that it stands out - that's all.
Personally, I'm not one to complain about the colour scheme. But having said that, it is very distinctive and easily spotted from the far end of any office - as well as by my better half, who calls the site the obsession.org!
I suppose just working and everybody doing their job is out of the question? Maybe I'm really old-fashioned, but might there not be an ethical situation here?
I guess it depends on the individual's attitude & how well their employer treats them - if you work for a poor employer, you might be more inclined to take liberties.
I've worked for a poor employer, but only if they began cheating me on hours worked vs. hours payed would I think of spending company time on my entertainment. I understand the temptation, but employers usually respond by building in "cheat hours" in the pay scale, which adversely affects everybody. If you're really being ethical, if your employer is so poor that you feel it necessary to goof off, you should probably quit. Before I inspire a ton of hate my way, let me assure you that I'm throwing this out for purposes of discussion only. I am not being judgemental. I well understand that every person is in a unique situation that must be understood from the individuals point of view. But I think a lot of people say "oh, my boss/work sucks so I'm just gonna show up and do whatever I want" without thinking about their own moral obligations in the matter, so it is something to think about.
Personally, I'm not concerned too much about ethics in THIS situation -- seeing as how I put in a lot more hours than I get paid for. It's just certain people that like to make trouble when they don't really know about all your extra hours or what they're talking about half the time. See what I mean?
I vote yellow. My supe leaves an hour before my shift starts, As long as I'm handcuffed to the phone ,and not actually ON it, and no dirty pictures are involved, the PTB (powers that be)don't care much what I do on the internet. Generally speaking I spend roughly 37.05 minutes on the phone in the last 6 hours of my shift.
nyah-nyah na nyah nyah.
If you want to engage in clandestine operations, you have the responsibility to remain undetected. Use your brain and invent something. Don't just complain and try to screw it up for everybody.
Nah, keep it yellow. How else can we use the nicknames The Yellowboard or the Mustard Board or various others I've seen here?
Altho it would be funny if the colors changed but the nicknames stuck. Twenty years from now someone could start a thread on "Why is this called the yellowboard?" and all the oldtimers would chime in with reminiscences about the good old days.
I keep a working application on my toolbar ready to click on and have it pop right up if the boss is near :>D
Pressing windows-key + D brings up the desktop (only on PC's of course)
and pressing alt - tab jumps between the programs you have open,
or you could do a google search for double desktop. (I think that's still around)
Grand. Sessions are finally picking up over here. Work is ok. Mushroom season is on, so I tend to spend a lot of time in the forrest picking chantarelles and blueberries. How things in your end?

Re: A Petition . . . please sign below.
I vote we should change it to Green, White and Gold. My boss will think I'm visiting a Republican website and will therefore give me a wide berth.

Don't change it.

Those of us who are our own boss enjoy a little smug feeling when we use the bright orange board.
