I was an assistant teacher for frank edgley's concertina classes, so I didnt have much of a chance to take anything, but I enjoyed hearing Mixolydia and Bohola perform.
I enjoyed Brian McNeill's advanced Scottish fiddle class. He's a very good teacher, and a cool guy.
I loved the band Genticorum. The band's ensemble class was also very interesting. I really liked Mixolydia as well, and all of the other Irish bands and musicians.
Spent the whole thing in instrument repair where I assist. A short list of what we saw/fixed/restrung/assessed includes 4 dulcimers, several fiddles, one double bass, two flutes, only a couple of mandolins, a pink ukulele, a quatro (sp?), one harp, plus what some of the participants brought with them, like vintage guitars.
Saw 3 of the evening shows, plus the whole festival. Really liked Crucible, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan, both of which I'd seen before. I'm not real big on harp, but I gotta admit both Robin Huw Bowen and Janet Harbison turn my crank big time. McDades were good, and of course Anna Massie, who cracks me up and plays like a banshee.
I wish the local pipe band was booked to play longer as they're pretty good, and a huge emotional draw for the locals. Besides, what's life without the pipes?
I also spent the whole week in the repair shop just doing some reedmaking. Quite a different experience for me and quite enjoyable. Seemed to make the time go by faster though.
Some of the sessions this year were absolutely magic. That's why I really go to Goderich these days - so many great people to have tunes with!!!
I loved going to the Celtic College. I live in Monkton Ontario which is about 45 minutes from Goderich. It was definately the best week of my summer. i really enjoyed playing at the sessions at Paddy O'neil's pub. I played fiddle at the sessions and stepdanced. I also play guitar, mandolin, piano, bass, and accordion. Does anyone have any pictures from teh sessions? Please send me some. If anyone wants the ones i have you are welcome to them.

Now to put all my gear away.
