So I bang the goat.. so what?

I have this weird problem, I wonder if any other Bodhran
player has it too.

I currently play in three Irish bands and it seems to me that sometimes I get the feeling that the Bodhran isn't that important -

I'm saying this because when I play in gigs, I tend to mess with the mixer a lot - I need the treble to be high and sometimes the other band members can't tell the difference and won't care if it only plays low sounds.
Moreover, when we're practicing together, it seems that only the melody instruments need to be taken into consideration and the Bodhran only needs to lead the right tempo.

What say ye?

If you play quietly enough you aren't even needed to lead the right tempo.
