I asked a few weeks ago about the tunes played by Scots in sessions and wackadack and jamie recommended the 90s collection (book and 2 cds which cover 85 of the 200 tunes in the book).
The reel mentioned above (composed by Mary macmaster) is on one of the cds and the way its played makes it a great reel. (and I recommend it even to Irish musicians) I have tried it off the notes and it sounds different to what I hear on the cd. I can normally get a feel for tunes off notes with not much difficulty but this one eludes me.
Im wondering if the played version is different to what is written. Anyone know?
