Hi Folks
I just heard before i went on holidays four weeks ago that Eoin Duignan a very good friend and Piper with the group The Wild Geese had his pipes stolen or maybe taken for safe keeping when he left them on the road beside his van and drove off without them
As they were very sentimental and made by Leo Rowsome and he had them for about thirty years and had offered a reward for thier return i hope all fellow musicians will do thier best to help for thier safe return .
I just cant find Eoin's phone no at the moment but i would really like to hear if he has got them back
I am sure some of you as i have lost your instrument and it's a terrible thing to happen
Good Luck Eoin

Our accordian player left his instrument on the pavement outside a hall in Oxford - these things happen - especially when alcohol and the distraction of a pretty young lady are involved!!
Hi thanks for the information about the safe return of Eoin's pipes .I am really delighted for him.
As for leaving them on the road and driving away without them can happen quite easy i once drove off in Lorient and left my Guitar sitting behind the van while i went to the front to get my keys of the back door and forgot to go back .And i was completely sober.
I olso had a friend who left his Banjo on top of his van and drove for four miles before he heard it falling off .And believe it or not it only damaged the case
Thanks Again
we left our big, heavy ''green bag'' of leads/ mics/ pedals just outside a finsbury park pub once, never to be seen again
_but stranger things have happened . . .
many years ago, there was a theft (only one item) at the 'Horniman Museum' in south london, where they said the thief hid in the toilets at closing time and broke out through the roof setting off the alarms but still got away with my favourite exhibit in the whole building _namely, an old Egan set of pipes, made in dublin

Re: Lost or Stolen Uillean Pipes
The scuttlebutt is he was able to effect their return after some negotiations with certain members of the Travelling Community.

How does one leave their pipes on the road as they drive away in the van? And a Rowsome set no less!!!!

If you think that's bad, my Mother once left on the roof of the car the Wedding Cake she was intending to deliver...
