Hey there,
Has anyone seen 'Soldier' with Kurt Russell? (no you're not at the wrong site) it's a super-soldier-saves-stranded-survivours-in-space futuristic thingy, (in which Mr Russell's word count is less than 10!!!) but, I digress, half way through they have an Xmas party and what music is blaring out only Solas's 'Flowing Bowl' set, I jumped up to check my CD player with shock, Lorena McKennitt was in there too somewhere, my question is ... when did this music go from being ancient to futuristic?
I saw the movie, but I never noticed the music! I have listened to a lot of Solas so I am surprised I missed it.
I guess these future people like to listen to "oldies" from the planet Earth or something.
ooo...I'll have to check that out now.
Actually, I also noticed in "Good Will Hunting" during a diner scene that Tommy Bhetty's Waltz from Altan's "The Red Crow" was playing--perked me right up during that movie
Any other movies where you've heard good tunage out of place?
Caliope House makes a guest appearence in 'Sex and the City'
somewhere too, that's my mobile ringtone so I jumped up then too thinking my phone was ringing somewhere ....
though that's another thread .....
And while it is not Irish trad, on S*x in the City when her beau proposed to Carrie, it was YoYo Ma, Edgar Myers and Mark O'Connor playing in the background, from one of their "Appalachian" albums.
Soldier?
Soldier?

Re: Soldier?
The Chieftains won an Oscar for "Barry Lyndon". They did, honestly, no wind up, this is true, nothing snide about it.
