Hi all,
I live in a place where there is quite a large community of Scottish/Irish working however there are no sessions.
At the moment I am sorting out my holiday plans and I would like to stay in a place in Ireland or Scotland for 2-3 weeks. Can anyone suggest a place/village or something which has sessions everynight with friendly tolerant people which offer a helping hand to the learning? I thnk my Bouzouki playing would improve tremendously after the 2/3 weeks.
Thanks and please let me know if you have any ideas for me.
I would recommend highly Commonground Scotland week beginning Aug 1st in Auchincruive near Ayr. You would receive a very warm welcome and the fiddle tutoring is excellent - Pete Clarke.
There are the best concerts every evening and very friendly sessions. Apart from folk and fiddle, the border pipers meet there that week and there is a lot of blues too.
Sessions/Workshops in late July/early august
