Looking for song title translation

Hi. Can anyone tell me what the tune title"Cruacha Glasa Na hÉireann" means in English?

With thanks

Re: Looking for song title translation

Cruach- means stack as in stack of corn, hay, or even peat, cruacha is the nominative plural of the word in other words more than one stack. Glasa is the nominative spelling of the colour green.
Basically it means the green stacks of Ireland.
Hope that helps.

Maria.

Re: Looking for song title translation

Yeh, the Green Hills as in Cruach for Croagh Patrick, the holy mountain! or Croagh Gorm, the Bluestacks hills if you excuse me mixing up the colours!
Then there is the Bánchnoic Eireann Ó: the white hills of Ireland as in the sneachta (snow) - a lovely air.

And yes it does translate as the green hills of ireland.
Sorry, I gave the literal translation as there can be many interpretations of a phrase depending on the content.

Re: Looking for song title translation

How about 'the 'Green Groves of Erin'?
What would that be, if not 'cruacha'?
