About a month ago, I ordered a whistle from him online. I received an automatic confirmation of the order with order number.
But since then...nothing. No whistle, no charge on my Visa account, and I haven't received a response to my email nor to a telephone message left for him.
Does he normally work this way? Should I be worried?
I've purchased 3 whistles from Mike and recieved very prompt service and delivery. There have been cases of the server making things vanish over the net. Best to drop him an e-mail, his address is on the site.
Just read your message about Michael Burke. Am also having problems reaching him. Bought my third whistle from him at the piper's convention in Berkeley CA. The tuning slikde was stuck. He emailed back immediately that he would fix it if I sent it to him, which I did. That was over 3 months ago. No response to my emails or voicemail. He has been so responsive in the past, am actually worried about him.
Has anyone out there actually heard from him recently?
I had a similar problem, though in the end everything worked out. I sent my Burke in for a repair after getting a swift email from him asking me to send it in. I did.....then heard nothing for 3 weeks. I sent a few inquiring emails, but got no response. Then, about 1 week later, I got the whistle back, fixed, and polished so well I was wondering for a moment if he actually just sent me a brand new whistle...until I noticed the date of manufacture was the same as it was on my original whistle, so I assume it's the same whistle I sent in. I suspect he was just busy keeping up with demand and was too busy to respond. All is well though, the whistle sounds great as ever; it's still by far my favorite in the herd.
News of Michael Burke?

Re: News of Michael Burke?
I bought 2 whistles from him earlier this year and received each, in Australia, within a fortnight of ordering.

That's Michael Buerk (as I'm sure you know!). Why on Earth does he spell his name like that? It looks like the sound someone makes while throwing up.
