Where to play in Portland/Salem

Where to play in Portland/Salem

Hello, everyone...

Planning a trip to Salem, Oregon week after next. Where can I go for some tunes, cameraderie, and fun? Preferably somewhere I can take my sister, who's not yet 21?

Re: Where to play in Portland/Salem

You could try Kells Irish Pub in Portland. They have a restaurant area and bar area. You might want to try it first yourself to make sure it won't scare your little sister away. When I was there, some form of music was played nightly. Weekends can get wild. The other place is Maggie McGuires in East Portland, if those brain cells haven't escaped me completed down the river Guinness. They have performers and occasional sessions. Best Wishes.

Kells Irish is a good spot for families etc. I played there for a few years on St Paddy's Day. Good fun. There are a lot of great local players around

Re: Where to play in Portland/Salem

The Coffeehouse Cafe and the Grand Vines, both on Liberty Street in downtown Salem, have some musicians in to play frequently but not regularly.

Now that you bring up the subject, I'll see if I can get myself there to play a bit more often.
