Does anyone know what is happening with the Lobby Bar in Cork???. It closed due to license problems in January and has'nt opened since. I heard a rumour that it's for sale and is going to be turned into apartments. The sessions on sunday evening were brilliant-does anyone know where these sessions have moved to? I hate to think the days of great sessions and gigs in there are over.
Get away!! That would be a huge loss. They were great supporters of the music, and nice cozy place for a concert. Come back Lobby!! I am already dealing with the loss of The Ovens and their wonderful loo. Next they will be telling me the Long Valley no longer does sandwiches, the HighBee is no more, and the Corner House is a condo.
I heard it's up for sale as well.Would be the end of an era if twere to go.Dunno about the sessions there but i know some of the gigs originally advertised for the Lobby ended up being played in the Old Oak,Oliver Plunkett st.
