Last year I got a beautiful recording called "The Collector's Items" by Duncan Dyker and Friends: http://www.heallan.com/collectors-items.html Some of Scott Skinner tunes and traditional strathspeys really sound like Baroque pieces in a small ensemble.
Tunes with a hint of Baroque...?
Tunes with a hint of Baroque...?
Eh? Eh? Besides the Baroque Fiddle[r] (because it's my tune) and Carolan's tunes, are there any other tunes that have a Baroque flavour to it?
Cheers,
Armand

The Horse's Branle?
Virtually any Playford Tune, if played in the right frame of mind...

Re: Tunes with a hint of Baroque...?
There's a guitar setting of the Swedish Jig in some manual or other that sounds extremely baroque to me.

Re: Tunes with a hint of Baroque...?
you could try some swedish folk dances, namely everything which is called a "polska". You'll be surprised how baroque they do sound.

Puirt a Baroque
My wife says you need to check out Puirt a Baroque. Their web page is apparently http://www.dungreenmusic.com/PaB/PaB.html
(Disclaimer: I've never heard them. But my wife has good taste.)
