Need Help (yes, in many ways I'm sure, but just the tune for now please
I have for the last couple of YEARS been mis-identifying a tune. Someone rattled of a title and started playing, I made the assumption they went together... silly me!
Here is the opening A part from memory. I don't have a whistle in front of me to check myself, but it should be enough to jog someone's memory.

I don't know ABC notation worth a crap so the '.' means a brief halt or whatever you'd like to do to double a note WITHOUT rolling it, and the '-' is a small sustain or hold.
Appreciate the help, sorry if I'm copmletely off on the notation but like I said... nothing handy and I'm not very good at anything beyond the ear.
Well, I found it. Someone emailed me with it, so for you fans of CORRECT abc stuffs ;) Here you go...
Small Coals for Nailers:
X:1
T:Small Coals for Nailers
M:1/8
R:Reel
S:Honeyman – Strathspey, Reel and Hornpipe Tutor (1898)
Z:AK/Fiddler’s Companion
K:E Minor
F|E2 EF G2 GB|(AB)AG (FE)DF|E2 EF G2 GB|(ef)e^d e2 e:|
||B|e2 ef g2 fe|(de0fg (af)df|({f}e^d)ef (ga)gf|(ef)e^d e2 eB|(e^d)ef ({a}gf)ge|
=defg afdf|~G2bg ~f2 af|(ef)e^d e2 e||
The way this converts to midi is WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too fast, but then again, it's all up to the player, but it makes an excellent haunting tune when played slowly. Especially on a low whistle. Can we link in here? I'll throw up a link to it after I record myself playing it here later on this evening.
A mildly out of whack attempt, but it's a good idea of how it sounds.
Now if I can just find sheet music and all that, I'll try to make my first submission to this site. I think it's a worthy little tune and would save someone else all this trouble to find it!
