Re: Is there any folky girl looking for a folky boy?
Pello - I had the great fortune to live and work in Barcelona in 1989 and again in 1992; what a great city and what a great time to be there for an architectect! It never occured to me that there would be an ITM scene there...my loss. Good luck with your search.
Just in case I make it back someday, where are the pub sessions in Barcelona?
Re: Is there any folky girl looking for a folky boy?
I lived in Barca too - great craic -
Pello, get on to Toni Ribas from this site, he runs a session in Gracia and its great craic - but he's married to Pat so hands off!
Re: Is there any folky girl looking for a folky boy?
Nice one Pello - I've often thought it would be good to have a dating section on The Session as after the breakdown of my marriage my new ideal partner would have to be Folky Daft and a good fiddle player and female!
Good Luck with your search. You never now in a few months time The Session might be celebrating it's first marriage

Re: Is there any folky girl looking for a folky boy?
Well, romance is fine, but I think it can interfere with being a musician. You get a pattern of some people who learnt to play an instrument when they were young, gave it up when getting married and having children, then took up their instrument again when the relationship broke up.
This is not my case by the way, but I'm not much of a musician either
Good luck Pello, hope you find a fellow musician, it'll make life easier.
Re: Is there any folky girl looking for a folky boy?
It's nice to have a partner who is interested in the music and likes to play. However, this can also lead to conflict, e.g different ideas about tunes, repertoire, session ettiquette and all sorts. Also, if you're at different levels of playing ability, one or other or both of you might get a bit frustrated or impatient. You might wish to frequent different sessions!
So, sometimes, it can be better to have a non playing partner who will leave you in peace to get on with things. As long as they are trusting and understanding enough.
All I'm saying is that you have to to consider the whole package. Music is only one part of it.
Re: Is there any folky girl looking for a folky boy?
I'm not ashamed to admit it, I was checking you out, pello. I'm afraid my heart's been stolen by your friend the flute player though. Do you have his number?
Re: Is there any folky girl looking for a folky boy?

Re: Is there any folky girl looking for a folky boy?
galician gaita, catalonian sac de gemecs, flemish doedelzak, bulgarian gajda...
That's a lot of baggage to bring to a relationshp.
Maybe get treatment first.

Don't listen to Cath, she's anti-beard. *Some* folky girls are pro-beard.
