music mad comments on some "awful" lyrics and as a fan i can understand if you are talking about "They Don't Teach This sh*t In School" but from the next two albums i fail to see where you are coming from could you enlighten me?
I seen Damien Dempsey in Manchester last night and he was fuppin brilliant. There was only four of them in the band and it was great. That de barra fella is some musician.
Anyone else go. I was lucky enough to see him on Sunday in Glasgow as well was up for the McGoldrick gig on Sat in sterling and went through to Glasgow to see Dempsey.
I love the new album. Party on, The Coloney, St Patricks Day and Patience have to be the best. BUY THE ALBUM WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
would strongly recommened anyone to go and see him.

Re: Damien Dempsey
I like him alot,
seen him a good few times...but aren't his lyrics sometimes painfully bad?
I'm guessing alot of people on this site wouldn't really be familiar, as he isn't exclusively traditional.
He is good though, I like him.

Re: Damien Dempsey
Aye, not trad I know, I like him though, a helluva lot better than some of the wishey washey singer-songwriter stuff.

Re: Damien Dempsey
He's good, but a bit wishy washy compared to some of my session mates when it comes to lyrics.
Mind you, I like Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen.

Re: Damien Dempsey
Im beginning to take it back....
I saw him on RTE 2 the other day singing the Drakness song.
"I Believe in a thing called love"
I stopped believing.
It was horrible - but its a good album otherwise

Re: Damien Dempsey
The new album is called shots very worth while getting.
Eamonn de barra plays the flute and keyboards does a bit of backing as well. he plays in the band slide.
