Thank Goodness for:-
Smoke free pubs,
U2
thesession.org
Punters who say "That was a great night lads, Thanks!"
Publicans who supply free fuel,
Tradheads
......and did I mention SMOKE FREE PUBS!!!!!!!
Oh I could go on and on about this all day...... All hail the Minister for Health, I love the man, Thank goodness for clean air, clean clothes, clear views to the other end of the counter, No Smoke Haleluijah!
The way this forum is organised. I use several other forums (Yahoo ones, etc.) and they are quite unwieldy. Why can't they all be like the good old yellow board?
Hear, hear to all of the foregoing and also thank goodness for all the characters who came before us and kept the music alive even when they neither had arses to their trousers nor trousers to their arses (and whatever the female equivalent of that is).
Friends, tunes, rain (I live in Southern California) and the lovely skies that come with it, playing tunes with friends inside, out of the rain,...um... tunes.
Thank goodness for.....

Re: Thank goodness for.....
I'm with you Backer! Just moved back to NY from Indiana and VERY happy about the smoke-free places to play.
Also, thank goodness for wonderful and fun musicians to share your passion with.

Re: Thank goodness for.....
the 'music' that is inside us, or outside, even in-between every one of us here
'Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast,
To soften rocks or bend a knotted oak.'
opening line to Congreve's 'The Mourning Bride' (1697)

'Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable' (London, 1870)
after only ten years of it, i prefer my 1923 edition, a gem of a find and an absolutely . . . endless source of inspiration . . .
Terry Pratchett finishes his forward to the latest (1999) edition with :
'No bookshelf, no WORLD is complete without it. It's as simple as that.'
